Let The Work Begin!!

Buying a house it’s not a big deal – the work you need to put in is!! Let me give you some piece of advice – if you have an option, buy a new house, if you don’t have an option, buy an old one which has recently been renovated, if you cannot buy that one, buy one in a disastrous state, that you can pump up and sell for more.. none of the above match my house situation. So work needed to be done.

Thursday
I already knew that the previous inhabitants of my house had put wallpaper on the walls. The next ones were painting all over it.. such idiots!! I thought, ok, so we’re going to tear all wallpaper down and then paint properly!

That’s what I thought – I discovered there’s something wrong with the walls – that is something really wrong.. it seems in some parts of – take – one wall, it would be partially wallpapered, partially not, some paint was yellow, some blue, under the final white, all unexpected, all a surprise! It seems the idiots were thinking – oh let’s take out the wallpaper and paint.. but then figured it out it’s too difficult to do so, so they just painted on what they were destroying.. such chaos! This must be a job for us.

Friday
Family reunion with Stefan. We’re taking a look at the disaster,

we plan the project and shop for paint and other wall-goodies. We’re starting on tearing down the wallpaper, we then have lots of beers, the dust is killing me!

Following weekendWe estimate a finalization of our project. We’re so wrong. Everything takes longer than expected. Tearing down wallpaper is not everything. You need to fill up what you destroyed. Special filling needs to be done, messing around with it follows. Then the thing needs to get equalized, dry and then we can start painting. This is how we’re celebrating Catholic Easter.

Yet another weekend, yet another job! All day painting walls, finalizing tiny jobs, little successes and I’m proclaiming myself – Wall Princess.
